I help college students balance schoolwork and fun to create success—burnout excluded!

College students seeking coaching may not know their exact struggles or needs. Many of my coaching clients express concerns like:

•I put off studying and then feel anxious and unprepared.

•I don’t feel motivated to do my schoolwork.

•I feel overwhelmed trying to balance all my activities plus schoolwork.

•I fear missing out when my friends are having fun and I have to study.

Coaching starts with an assessment of your specific needs, strengths, and goals. This assessment will then guide the coaching journey and determine how we spend our time each session. During coaching we will work on areas that challenge many college students, including time management, confidence, decision making, productivity, relationships, and habits for success.

Currently coaching is provided to students exclusively through 45-minute private coaching sessions. I am creating an online training program that will include worksheets and videos to teach skills for success, as well as group coaching and supplemental private coaching sessions. Please stay tuned for an announcement when this program is available.

Coaching is not intended to treat a mental health diagnosis. If you have a mental health diagnosis such as depression or anxiety, please consult a mental health practitioner for treatment. If you are already receiving mental health treatment, coaching may be a good additional option to address the areas that therapy does not cover. One of the most common concerns I hear from college students is that they cannot focus. Low motivation for schoolwork comes in a close second. Distraction, poor focus, and low motivation have many possible causes. Through coaching we will explore the main contributors to these difficulties and develop solutions that are customized to each student’s unique needs.

 

Within the coaching role I am not able to provide an assessment or diagnosis for ADHD, so I recommend consulting with a medical practitioner if you need an official diagnosis. 

 

Frustration, stress, anxiety, and feeling overwhelmed can create significant struggles with focus and motivation. Whether focus and motivation struggles result from ADHD or some other factor, coaching can help!

So many college students sailed through high school with ease, but then became overwhelmed and struggled to balance everything during college. This is because college brings unique challenges that many students are simply not prepared to manage.
